Hot, Hot, Hot

Sitting at the entrance of Ballantrae, a subdivision in Dublin, is a piece of art titled Dancing Hares.  And underneath these large bunnies is a large fountain park perfect for frolicking on hot summer days.  The fountains spurt up at various heights and children quickly dart through and around the streams of water.  It’s great fun without getting totally immersed in water – you will, however, get completely soaked.

If you go:

  • There isn’t much shade at the park.  Bring your own umbrella if this matters to you and don’t forget to pack the sunscreen.
  • The fountains provide lots of entertainment for little ones, but plan on bringing some buckets or cups for even more water catching fun.
  • You can park at the Dublin Community Pool South and walk over to the fountains via a bike path that goes under the road.
