Jump for Jazz
Today we attended the second concert in the PBJ & Jazz at the Topiary Park series. The grounds of the Topiary Park are always impressive (the bushes are made to look like Georges Seurat’s famous painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of La Grand Jatte) and well-kept. For older children it is a great chance to talk about different interpretations and mediums of art. The concert itself is great fun and performed by professional musicians. My little guy enjoyed our picnic on the lawn, the bouncy music and checking out the topiary figures.
If you go:
- You can make a day out of it by attending a story time at the main library, having a picnic at the concert and then sticking around for an art project.
- There are plenty of metered parking spots around the park and also open lots.
- Bring chairs or a blanket for the concert.
- There are two concerts left in the series for the summer on August 14 and September 11.
